About the Artist
My sculptures are created through several stages of development; beginning with building up various types of wood to a rough form, then carving down to the intended shape. The next, which has been the most discernible step, is fastening hand flattened bottle caps on the form. Both vintage and current caps are used, and the sheer variety and colors allow me to create virtual and subject. Inspiration has come from everyday life, to pop culture, to fantasy and imagination. Some pieces feature exposed wood; bringing in a new contrast and dimension to the art. The final sculpture is applied with an epoxy resin to give a smooth, high gloss finish. Lives and works in Wooster, OH.
