About the Artist
A colour*consumed creative, I paint. in gouache. bright, pretty, book-nerd worthy pictures. the "faerie tale feet" series of paintings illuminate favorite heroines & heroes from faerie tales & classic literature (including plays and even pop culture), and uses symbols from the original stories to compose the backgrounds hiding lots of details as I go. and because posture and costume can tell us so much about a character, I paint just the feet so (just like a good book) you can step into the adventures for yourself. W. H. Auden said, "the way to read a fairy tale is to throw yourself in." I believe in the power of stories in teaching empathy, illuminating the magic and miracles in the world around us, and empowering each individual to find their own heroic life tales to embody. Lives and works in Greenville, SC.
