About the Artist
Neil Kemarly, a native of Pioneer, Ohio, credits his late wife, Debbie, as the inspiration behind his woodworking. He has a philosophical approach to his award-winning work - seeing the "perfection in imperfection" in the natural beauty of the wood. With his wife's support, Kemarly began selling his work at local craft shows. Starting small, with pens, bottle stoppers, boxes, kaleidoscopes and clocks, he soon branched out to larger items such as tables and benches. Kemarly's woodworking is a contrast to his pre-retirement job as a journeyman tool and die maker. His designs are powerful in their simplicity. He sees himself as a designer and a builder.
