About Jocelyn Law-Yone

Jocelyn Law-Yone (a.k.a. Chef JoJo) is the Executive Chef and co-owner of Thamee Restaurant. She is a teacher, student, artist, and traveler who can swim with sharks. A lifelong creative, Jocelyn was born in Rangoon, Burma. She learned at an early age that delicious food and curious minds are essential ingredients for memorable dinner conversations.

Armed with her informal education at home and formal schools in Rangoon, Bangkok, and Maryland, she became a teacher of English and AP Art History for 22 years. When she retired from teaching, she opened a Burmese restaurant in Washington DC, and has won top awards in the restaurant industry.

Remembering how food offerings and kindness were monumental in her childhood, Jocelyn is always willing to join efforts to help those in need. When she shows up for the meeting, you can be sure that Jocelyn will bring Burmese food.
