About the Artist
Thought my father and grandfather were sculptors, my artistic journey began in the performing arts. I am a classically trained vocalist and opera singer. But after I had children I gave up traveling to be closer to home, and expanded my education into the visual arts. My career evolved from graphic design to marketing, management, and executive leadership in business technology.
I was introduced to polymer clay many years ago, but only recently have I been able to focus on my art full-time and really consider the potential of this amazing material. My true passion is in exploring the sculptural possibilities of the clay. I seek to infuse my work with a sense of fun, to celebrate the organic beauty of nature while incorporating modern design elements. Comfort for the wearer is of paramount importance to me in all my sculptural jewelry, and I take great care in engineering my work so that the lightweight nature of polymer clay is well served by the assembly. These are wearable pieces of art that celebrate the intricate detail of the natural world, reinterpreted into elegant contemporary jewelry.
