About the Artist
My creative process is focused primarily on my passion for color, my fascination with natural forms, and the physical interactions of materials. My approach is rooted in improvisation and revision. I work with the canvas on the floor to have optimal control of the flow of my oil paint mixture. Like most of my work, this piece "Glacier" is inspired by the organic forms and textures of nature. In creating it, I continue to explore a personal technique that is analogous to the fluid geological processes that shape our environment. The painting evolves in layers, manifesting a kind of dialogue between my emotions and the chemical reactions of the materials. Lives and works in Oberlin, OH.
