About the Artist

Dying and sewing my pieces myself allows me to establish an intimate relationship with the cloth. I use shibori techniques to create markings on the cloth. I respect the traditions of Shibori, but I use them to reflect my contemporary point of view. I make work that is wearable, and it is also a canvas for my art. Each piece is a construction and a drawing. These four images reflect that.
