About the Artist
Copper is my medium. I use tools passed down from my father and grandfather in my studio every day, and cherish the craftsmanship I learned from them. I love combining the found and overlooked in unconventional ways and looking for patterns and beauty close at hand. I have expanded my abstract work to include layered college, and am designing work that can be at home outdoors in the elements. Hand-made texturing hammers and found object forms help bring intricate surface detail into my collage abstractions and totems. Working a single material in myriad ways keeps me fully present in my process. Experimentation is second nature in my process; pushing the boundaries of a medium is where the light comes in for me. Lives and works in Richmond, VA.
