About the Artist

My woodcarvings are based on discovering the inner beauty of the local fallen trees I collect. By strictly using primitive hand tools, I create a dialogue between myself and the wood in its natural form. The use of hand tools, rather than power tools, allows me to bring out the form that I see and experience in the wood - through feeling it with my hands and seeing it with my artistic vision.

In a world of mass production, AI, robots and 3D printing, I run in the opposite direction. Each piece I make is truly one-of-a-kind: a completely unique creation, a delicate balance between nature and my personal relationship with it.

Based in Frenchtown, NJ
