About the Artist
I've always loved to create original things, learning from my Grandmother, who made everything. Sewing through college with store-bought patterns, I decided I needed to learn to make my own patterns too. Receiving a degree in Fashion Design, I worked for a successful West coast designer for many years, learning the business side, and starting my own label at the same time. Once I started a family, I decided to focus on outerwear...which is complicated and requires much tailoring. My designs start with a sketch or I'll construct a drape in 3 dimensions on a dress form. I create a paper pattern, then cut and sew in test fabric to see how it's fitting. I'll adjust the fit many times, tweaking the pattern, which may take months to finish the design. I'll sew the final design in luxury fabrics like Cashmere, Virgin wool, Alpaca, Merino. I absolutely love what I do, love working with customers, and enjoy making a living traveling around the country participating in well known events.
