About the Artist
Hilary is a landscape oil painter working in water soluble oil paint on cradled wood panel. She came to fine art from illustration and graphic design, and is the illustrator of the book Same Sun Here, published by Random House. A California native who has spent equal amounts of time in New York City and Pittsburgh, she now calls Takoma Park MD home. Schenker’s painting evoke moments of contemplation and quiet connection with nature in an urban environment, as well as portals of all types - passageways, reflected worlds, fleeting moments of insight. She works in the studio, fueled by loud music, a passion for a life and a frantic sense of its fleetingness. She dances while she works.
