About the Artist
I work with precious metals and gemstones using hand fabrication techniques including forming, soldering, polishing, stone-setting with emphasis on design, quality, and finish. I use only recycled platinum, Argentium sterling silver, 14k, 18k, and 22k gold, and ethically sourced natural gemstones in my designs. The Time Traveler collection is inspired by star charts and jewelry as instruments to be used in space travel. Each piece is hand chased into sterling silver, 14k or 18k gold, and platinum with sliding beads and moving pieces. This collection has been featured in the Carnegie Museum and jewelry exhibits across the US. The Circuit Cuff #17 (seen in jury photo) is part of the Time Traveler collection and features a 17.4ct fancy cut sky blue topaz and is currently on loan to the Tellus Science Museum in Georgia for the "Out of This World! Jewelry in the Space Age" exhibit curated by Elyse Zorn-Karlin. The Time Traveler 2020 Shamanic Mask (seen in photo #1) has been featured on the front page of "The Jewelry Magazine" and several other jewelry magazines. The mask is entirely handcrafted from sterling silver, 18k gold, handmade silver rivets, foam, rubber, with removable silk and cotton filters, and functions as an N95 face mask. Lives and works in Charlottesville, VA.
