About the Artist

The Secret Ingredient is Time.

As a lawyer working in the fast-paced technology industry, I'm immersed in the ceaseless demands of a world where attention is constantly pulled to the immediate and fleeting. My photography offers a deliberate counterpoint to this modern hustle and bustle, embracing slowness and intentionality through the craft of long exposure.

Long exposure photography uses various techniques and equipment to extend exposure times, frequently leaving your shutter open for as long as 10 minutes. By doing so, time - that fleeting element of our daily life that so often is taken for granted - is transformed into a tangible element of the image: Water becomes a glassy expanse, clouds streak into painterly forms, and transient motion fades, leaving only the stable and enduring elements of a scene.

Each exposure forces me to slow down and become fully present. Even with the camera perched on a sturdy tripod, even the smallest movement must be avoided to ensure clarity - a practice that mirrors the stillness I aim to capture. The minutes spent waiting for each shot also provide a space for reflection, where I can observe the subtleties of light and shadow, the way time moves around the enduring, and the quiet beauty often overlooked in the rush of life. This deliberation isn't just technical; it's meditative, pulling me into a place of mindfulness and focus where the act of creation becomes as important as the result.

Each image I create is a testament to this practice of stillness, inviting viewers to step outside the rush of daily life and reflect on the beauty of permanence amidst motion. My work combines technical precision with artistic vision, showcasing not just a scene, but a moment distilled into its purest form - a reminder that in a world of constant flux, there is power in slowing down and seeing what remains.

Through my lens, I hope to share this balance of craft and contemplation, offering a quiet space for reflection in a hurried world. Let my art be an invitation to pause, observe, and find meaning in the enduring.
