About the Artist
My paintings are constructed of the basic elements of art: line, color, texture, and movement play important roles. Multiple mediums are used to show different phases of the work. Smudges and drips remain to show the history and process. The subject matter, inspired by ordinary objects, is easy to accept and encourages a response based on individual experiences. The paintings are intentionally ambiguous, allowing the viewer to complete the work.
My current body of work is inspired my children and their love of reading. My daughter crawling across the floor bringing books to read, the deconstruction and reconstruction of the bookshelf, and bedtime reading are the inspirations for the subject of books.
