About the Artist

I like to show up nearly everyday and paint. That's how I find out what is going to happen. I don't have everything mapped out in my head before I start. I really love making representational art, it feels like anyone can "get it" even if they're "not an art person". At the same time, I'm going after the brass ring and making top-shelf museum-quality work. In "Chicken Otter Iguana Walrus" I just knew I really wanted to make a large painting because been doing SO MANY small ones (because those sell faster). And I knew I wanted to put leaves into it and do 4 new animals I hadn't done in a big painting before. I super love doing the 4 by 3-foot paintings, it's a lot of space to work with.
