About the Artist
I am inspired by folklore, mythology & the human form. I create imagery using a mixture of drawing, painting & collage. I am also heavily inspired by history. I start with my original drawings, cut them out, then layer antique & vintage papers to create a portrait or scene. Shading is done with ink wash, watercolor & colored pencil. I layer my original drawings with antique & vintage papers to address symbolic, cultural, historical & spiritual themes with purposeful vagueness, allowing them to be familiar to a variety of audiences.
Though she works in mixed media now, Morgan earned her B.F.A in commercial photography from the Columbus College of Art and Design. Born in Syracuse, NY & raised in Columbus, OH she is also versed in printmaking & ceramics. Kate has been living her dream as a full time artist since 2012 by traveling the Country showing her work while maintaining a studio in Columbus, Ohio.
