The focus of my work is to create interplay and harmony between the disparate elements in life that inspire me: abstract forms, iconic imagery, music, the art of communication and the philosophy of minimalism.
This current body of abstract mixed media painting draws on my decades of studio furniture, design, professional, faux finishing and over a dozen years of creating large scale, sculptural wood wall art. This ongoing adventure has allowed me to tap into all the skills, techniques and vision that I have acquired and developed to this day into a form of painting that expresses my interest in familiar and iconic objects, common forms and random shapes, and ideas and emotions associated with connection, communication and love. I take a multilayered broken paint approach to this work, presented in a stylized abstraction of day-to-day objects central to our common and shared experience as well as familiar geometric shapes, such as circles, lines, and grids, such as in my piece entitled “In the Mood”.
