About the Artist
Over the past 15 years I’ve been playing around with motion and long exposure times in camera. Within the last 4 years I’ve been able to dial in the settings and technique that create very compelling impressionistic images. They are all single shots. The subject, mostly color, shape and texture, becomes isolated by blurring background and foreground. Unlike other motion blur techniques, your eyes find areas of clarity and detail to rest on and explore. I’ve found that printing these images on Unryu (Japanese for swirling fibers) rice paper, adds a beautiful texture and iridescence that enhances a three dimensionality that is present within the images
