About the Artist
The artwork observes the confluence of local landscape and culture within the American South. As a primarily self-taught painter, I create original oil paintings that merge abstraction and impressionism with a folk-art whimsy. I explore a wide variety of subjects, from vibrant palette-knife abstraction to loose mountain landscapes to a series of whimsical figurative scenes. My goal for each painting is to capture the transient moment in a timeless style. Both “Neighbor Pool” and “Georgia Peaches” celebrate the togetherness, complexity, and nostalgia behind shared summertime memories within our local communities.
