About the Artist
I am a Fine Art B&W photographer using traditional B&W films and papers. If prints are digital, I start with a high quality scan of my B&W negatives. I think that the tonal quality from a negative is richer and more complex and provides a broader range of grays.
I am traditionally trained in the fine arts and bring a strong and passionate understanding of classic composition to my photography. When something captures my attention, I study it. I look at all the possibilities, the texture, the light, and the angles. I like the dramatic and seductive effects of fog and mist. I am always fascinated by the fact that I can look through the lens on my camera, capture the moment and share a different and perhaps unexpected perspective.
