About the Artist
I create artifacts. A relic from a past culture, fragments from a future civilization. Perhaps pieces that skirt the boundaries of both. “Found objects” - a term often used in art and craft, meaning using something pre-made, pre-existing. Within my work, I emulate that sense of the almost familiar, but unknown, yet create everything from scratch. The age, time, and mystery you see have been created by me. These found objects didn’t exist in the here and now. Boundaries have been removed - the creations fill and/or cross many different definitions. These works may be wearable, functional, wall pieces, sculptural - or a mix. Timelessness is a quality I value. The bracelet and locket are both examples of over-mechanized pieces, that feel to be artifacts of lost purpose. I want the question "where did you find this?", knowing that it didn't exist.
