About the Artist
Phillip Harris's provocative and luminous oil paintings are close views of the intricacies of surfaces and textures and light found in nature. Heavy impasto painted surfaces resonate along side deep translucent painted surfaces. " The landscape is a door to much of the spiritual meaning I seek ". Working with this imagery, along with exploring the physical poetry within the painting precess, is the essence of my paintings.
