About the Artist
My work explores, through photography, everyday scenes and subjects that have drawn my eye. I have a graphic sense and am drawn to such. The interplay between light and shadow, the color or textures in front of me, the architectural shapes I see, the lines that lead are all scenes I like to capture. I aim to take the usual and make it more through the way it is photographed and then digital enhanced. Textures and strong colors are always a plus when shooting my work. Often I get close to the subject perhaps not obscuring it from recognition but altering the usual viewpoint offering another way of seeing.
The images are printed on a film and transferred to glass, metal, wood or different types of paper. Pearlescent powders are often added to enhance. They are all archival processes and are coated with a preservative and protector against the sun’s damaging rays. Lives and works in Ben Avon, PA.
