About the Artists
Our subjects are influenced by classical Middle Eastern forms, seeking perfection in the tossing of each vessel - balance, symmetry, and soft curvature in shapes. We approach the surface treatment with care, extensively etching and carving vessels prior to glazing. The result is one of conflict and contrast, whereby a perfect and difficult form is finished with the chaotic craquelure of the Raku firing; where the undulating curves of each vessel are set against stark geometrical etching and highlighting. Live and work in Shippensburg, PA.
