About the Artist
It seems anyone with a cell phone can take a cool picutre these days. What makes a photo worthy to be considered fine art is my ultimate task as a professional photographer. My goal is to capture the emotional presence of the subject in an artistic vision. One of my favorite pieces is "Resolve", which captures a centries old pine tree growing from the bedrock just off the edge of the Grand Canyon. Most are only wanting to look past the tree to see the great abyss but I wanted it to take center stage. Rather than rely on a monochromatic finish I opted for infrared to accentuate every pine needle against a subdued sky. Each piece is individually assesed to determine the optimal archival printing technique. For "Resolve" an infrared image is best represented on silver metallic photo paper behind 1/8" acrylic glass providing optimal clarity and longevity.
