About the Artist

Saya was raised in a family steeped in historic Japanese culture, surrounded by traditional folk art, dance and music in a beautiful natural island environment.

Each of her parents have been recognized and certified as Japanese Prefectures Living National Treasures for their contributions to the preservation and education of their historic traditions.

She was immersed in all aspects of their rich traditions, which led her to seek out additional knowledge, with a special interest in folklore.
Saya is a self-taught artist who has found the best outlet to share her passion through her unique Origami Art which combines figures, color and patterns that also have a positive message with symbolisms.
