About the Artist

Shawn was born and raised in the arts and crafts world. He is a self-taught gourmet cook with an obsession for perfection. Although he never likes to burn his food, he began to scorch his spoons creating a striking contrast with the natural cherry wood. Shawn has incorporated his love of food, fire, and wood into functional art; spoon designs with real usefulness. Kitchen utensils made from select cherry wood; band sawn, drum sanded and finished in light mineral oil. I strive to balance tactile and aesthetic qualities with utility and purpose in mind. Lives and works in Kempton, PA.
