About the Artist

Born into a family of three generations of painters, my ceramics are heavily influenced by my upbringing and experiences living in Japan and the United States. I create functional pottery that is either wheel thrown or slab built using stoneware and porcelain materials. Ceramics is used as a blank canvas for me to apply traditional watercolor painting to create hand-painted botanical scenes and sculptured birds. My creative goal is to be able to provide a moment of joy, of stillness, and of pause to embrace simplicity, asymmetry, and beauty.

Based in Crownsville, MD
