About the Artist
I began painting in 2003, sort of on a whim, but to see how I might be able to express my creative energy through visual art. I found that I enjoy working with the full spectrum of acrylic paints and mediums, such as modeling paste and gloss gels, applied to stretched canvas in heavy layers to build mood and character on the surface. I further employ tools such as palette knives, scrapers and textiles to complete the compositions. It is imperative for me that my end results be colorful, textural, powerful and most importantly individual. Painting in the abstract allows for the visual and emotional experience of the work to be unique for each person viewing it. That is what thrills me and the reason I continue to do this.
