I love the world in which we live. Seeing coral made me feel I could get that effect in porcelain if I could carve delicately enough. Once I worked out the carving technique, bone-dry with an e-xacto knife, the designs segued into trees, forests, and landscapes. After 40 years of carving landscapes into porcelain I no longer carve a specific scene; I remember a place Ixve been and try to carve how I felt.
