About the Artist
As a woodturner, my works are created by means of a wood lathe. The lathe simply spins the wood, and the rest is up to me. The focus in the art that I produce is on utilitarian items as well as purely artistic pieces. I appreciate knowing that someone will use or purely enjoy one of my works in their everyday lives, and in their homes. Special care is taken in selecting the trees that I use for my art. All the wood I use comes from standing dead trees, storm damaged trees, lumber mill yards, and occasionally from a tree being taken down by a homeowner or municipality. I offer woods that have character to them. You will notice that I do not shy away from wood that has voids or cracks, because to me they just add to the personality of each piece.
