About the Artist
I rarely start with a completed idea. Most paintings begin with a thought, a color, or a texture, and develop around that one seed. The painting process is one of discovery and the pursuit of answers, arriving at a moment of completeness. The painting "You Are Here" began as the first of a series of brand new paintings in a new studio. The words were written in large letters on the canvas, and although they are no longer seen in the final version, they are the foundation of everything that was explored in the completion of the painting.
