Performance by Claire Helen Ashley
This year, the headlining performance at the Festival will be presented by Chicago-based transdisciplinary artist Claire Helen Ashley. Ashley's Radiant Spawn performance, with audio composition by Joshua Patterson, invites viewers to witness a clutch of brightly colored inflatable creatures discovering their new environment. Scottish born, Ashley mines the language of painterly abstraction, monumental sculpture, and slapstick humor to investigate inflatables as painting, sculpture, installation, and performance costume.
